Truth Vibrations

"The divisions in this World are in our minds, they are our creation.

It is these divisions, these dogmas, these attitudes played off against each other, right across The World, that fundamentally allow a few people to control the direction of the Planet. Not everything that happens in the World - of course not - but its direction towards more and more centralization of power, in the hands of fewer and fewer people.

We can choose to be frightened - we can choose to hate...

...or we can choose not to fear - and we can choose to love...

...I love you whatever - I love you without condition...

...and if we want to change the World, it has to start with Self.

Fear; anger;, hatred; condemnation; dictating what other people should be - that's the World we've got - that's the Prison - but Paradise is waiting - a thought, an attitude away - that's all it is - a choice away.

LOVE - to love each other and love The World...
...our lives are fundamentally changed...

...and The World is fundamentally changed...

...and we are the generations that are going to love The World to a Paradise."

Ice House Detroit

An abandoned home has been encased in ice in an Art Project that makes an effort to draw attention to the housing crisis in the US. Gregory Holm, a photographer, and Matthew Radune, a New York architect, picked a house in Detroit from the state's land bank which had been slated for demolition. Gregory said he wanted the project to be looked at as a "tool for inspiration".

"To be involved through life's journey with any art form is fascinating, revealing and often challenging. Its complexity and simultaneous profound simplicity opens many doors of perception. Art has led me in the direction of developing my heart. With the focus on love all aspects of life can be transformed; 'true love comes from understanding'- the Buddha. My art is a physical manifestation of the search for understanding the true nature of being." -- Glyn Pooley

Peter Callesen - A4 Papercut

"My paper works have been based around an exploration of the relationship between two and three dimensionality. I find this materialization of a flat piece of paper into a 3D form almost a magic process - or maybe one could call it obvious magic, because the process is obvious and the figures still stick to their origin, without the possibility of escaping. In that sense there is also an aspect of something tragic in most of the cuts. Some of the small paper cuts relate to a universe of fairy tales and romanticism, as for instance Impenetrable Castle inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Steadfast Tin Soldier, in which a tin soldier falls in love with a paper ballerina, living in a paper castle. Other paper cuts are small dramas in which small figures are lost within and threatened by the huge powerful nature. Others again are turning the inside out, or letting the front and the back of the paper meet - dealing with impossibility, illusions, and reflections."

"I find the A4 sheet of paper interesting to work with, because it is probably the most common and consumed media and format for carrying information today, and in that sense it is something very loaded. This means that we rarely notice the actual materiality of the A4 paper. By removing all the information and starting from scratch using the blank white 80gsm A4 paper as a base for my creations, I feel that I have found a material which we all are able to relate to, and at the same time is non-loaded and neutral and therefore easier to fill with different meanings. The thin white paper also gives the paper sculptures a fragility which underlines the tragic and romantic theme of the works."

Rob Gonsalves

"Towers of Knowledge"

Artist Rob Gonsalves was born in Toronto, Canada in 1959. During his childhood, he developed an interest in drawing from imagination using various media. By age twelve, his awareness of architecture grew as he leaned perspective techniques and began to do his first paintings and renderings of imagined buildings.

After an introduction to the Artists Dali and Tanguy, Rob began his first surrealist paintings. Soon the "Magic Realism" approach of Magritte along with the precise perspective illusions of Escher came to be influences in his work.

In his post college years, Rob worked full time as an architect, also painting trompe l'oeil murals and theatre sets. After an enthusiastic response in 1990 at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, Rob devoted himself to painting full time.

Although Rob's work is often categorized as surrealistic, it differs due to the fact that the images are deliberately planned and result from conscious thought. Ideas are largely generated by the external world and involve recognizable human activities, using carefully planned illusionist devices. Rob injects a sense of magic into realistic scenes. As a result, the term "Magic Realism" describes his work accurately. His work is an attempt to represent human beings desire to believe in the impossible.

Numerous individuals around the world, corporations, embassies, and a United States Senator collect Rob's original work, and limited edition prints. He has exhibited at Art Expo New York and Los Angeles, Decor Atlanta and Las Vegas, Fine Art Forum, as well as one-man shows at Discovery Galleries, Ltd., Hudson River Art Gallery, and Kaleidoscope Gallery.

In June of 2003, Simon and Schuster introduced North America and Canada to Imagine a Night, Rob's first hardcover book featuring sixteen paintings. Due to it's success, they released Imagine a Day in 2005, followed by Imagine a Place in 2008.

SURFACE

What would The World be like from an underground perspective ??

SURFACE is an experimental film, exploring the emotional journey from an underground urban perspective. This 'urban symphony' transforms human actions and street objects into beats that harmoniously compose a grand audio and visual composition. The film emphasizes the ideas of point of contact, human identity and notion of live footprints.

SURFACE is a part of UND-VIS, a thesis project for MFA Design and Technology, Parsons The New School for Design. UND-VIS : Under Vision Experiment; explores the new visual language of an unconventional perspective from below.
